Once upon a time
there were two friends who decided to take a holiday together, a ski trip seemed like the right thing to do, although neither one skied. Off they went leaving Lethbridge, and headed toward Fernie. Upon arriving at Fernie they decided to have a drink, during the drink they confirmed they don't ski so off to Calgary, arriving there in the dark, now the one driving was tired and wanted to stop and eat find a hotel and call it a day, the passenger who had traveled little and was a whimp would not let the driver stop anywhere for this was the big city and bad things would surely happen if they stopped so they continued on to Medicine Hat arriving in the wee hours of the morning too tired to care if they were attacked. The passenger agreed to the Travelodge sure that things would look better in the morning. They did the driver stayed on with family in Medicine Hat and the passenger went back to Saskatoon, thus ending one of the most misserable trips either had ever had. They agreed that some day they would look back and laugh at this, and that time is now, a mere 30 plus years later. And because laughter is the best medicine they are trying again with a few slight changes. In the 30 years the driver has married and had children one of whom is coming on this trip. The passenger has discovered that Calgary is not a big scarey city to be afraid of but a great place to visit family and spend money. She has also become braver and has branched out to see the world, leading us to our next trip... from Hell? I think not, this will be a trip of fun and adventure, and we have agreed that should we decide we've had enough of each other an afternoon of individual adventure will be the thing to do. So come along and check out Nova Scotia and PEI with us. Halifax and all it has to offer, Peggys Cove, Ann of Green Gables, and a place callled New Glasgow which apparently has amazing Lobster feeds. I'm so looking forward to seeing the red dirt of the island. And the big question does the Atlantic Ocean look different than the Pacific? will a prairie girl be able to tell?
